Brandhall through comfortably over two-legs (SICM Sevens)

Last night’s first-leg games looked fairly even on paper, with matches either being potentially close-run affairs or else a shock not being that much of one should it happen. The one fixture that was all over bar the shouting though was the second-leg between Brandhall and COTR, with the former going into the game with a 9-1 lead. Courtesy of hat-tricks from Dave Wall and Dave Guard, they won 8-0.

Brandhall & Quinton FC  8   Goals: Dave Wall (3), Dave Guard (3), Gavin Calver, Adam Chester.  MOTM: Gavin Calver

Having already wrapped up the league title and The Summer Cup, Allstar Lions’ attempt to complete the treble took a step forward, albeit just a small one, as they edged their game with Kingsbourne 5-4. It’s going to be a cracker next week.

Most-improved side of the season Men United took on Oakham in a game that could certainly have produced one of those ‘shocks’ referred to earlier. In the end though, it was the Men who produced a comfortable result, winning 5-0, with Danny Bell grabbing a hat-trick.

In the final game Crestwood Town FC and Tipton Family Church FC went head-to-head with the former winning 8-4. Rhys Harper scored 4 and Alex Perry 3 as they start as firm favourites next week to claim a semi spot. Tipton also recorded a hat-trick, with recent signing Sean Pugh grabbing the honours.
