The worst-kept secret in The Summer Cup was confirmed last night – Allstar Lions have qualified for the semi-finals. Again they did it in style, this time with a 10-1 victory over Kingsbourne. With 50 goals in 5 games, they are on fire at them moment. Aaron Lloyd, who is equally surging away this season, found the net 4 times with John Morgan registering a hat-trick.

Also looking very good for a qualification spot is Brandhall, who last night logged the biggest score, a 14-0 v Tipton Family Church FC. We’ll have to go to Mr Stats Master himself, Dan Spear, to find out the last time an individual player scored 7 in a game. So on that front, well done to Adam Chester. Dave Wall and Dan Lodge also scored hat-tricks.

Also last night we handed out trophies from last season. Dave Wall tweeted the following on the same evening:

Crestwood did their own chances of making the cut no harm, as they beat Church On The Rock 9-1. Ben Perry scored 4 and Alex Perry 3. It is going to be close though and although the top two are pretty much confirmed in position, there’s still a lot to play for regarding the other places.
