Addressing the church, John writes that ‘many’ are faithful and diligent in following the truth. The use of the word ‘many’ indicates that most, but not all, were truly in the light.
In any organisation there will always be those who, for whatever reason, aren’t truly part of the group. Church is no different.
Some you have to encourage and do what you can to bring onboard. Others you have to watch very carefully. The ‘many’ are great, it’s the others you have to watch out for, especially the latter ones.
