One of the mocking comments often levelled at Christians is that we worship God, as if it’s a weakness. There’s something missing in our lives so we need to fill the gap with God.
The truth is that we all worship something. There is indeed a hole in our lives that needs to be plugged. It’s just that for many they turn to gods created from man-made materials.
Why worship possessions? The god of materialism will never truly fulfill us and will invariably disappoint us. There’s nothing wrong with having things, it’s when things have us that the problems start.
