The proverbs of Solomon son of David, king of Israel
Wisdom is such an essential part of our character. Without it we’re like a car with no fuel or an appliance that’s not plugged in. In other words, we may look good on the outside but we’ll never function.
And as we look at the book of Proverbs, it’s interesting to note that they are attributed to Solomon. Not God, but Solomon. For sure it’s not excluding God, and we have to recognise he’s the source of our wisdom.
But we also have to ‘play our part’ as well. We have to be open, alert and switched-on. Above all we have to learn and implement wisdom in our lives. Wisdom keeps us not only on the right track, but also off the wrong one.
