Tipton and Kingsbourne went into their second-leg game with all still to play for. Although the former had a two-goal advantage, we all know just how quickly the net can be found in the Sevens. Could Kingsbourne crack the defensive nut that has seen two clean sheets on the bounce?

The answer to that was a resounding no, as Tipton put themselves into the hat for the semi-final draw courtesy of a 3-1 victory. After a poor season, three wins on the trot is what the headline to this week’s update is all about. Well done to Josh Spear and Simon Westwood who both hit the 75 appearance mark.

Kingsbourne  1     Nathan Spear     MOTM: Tom Barlow

The other game, also in the David Bloor Memorial Trophy, was a first-leg affair as current (shared) champions Allstar Lions took on United FC. With The Summer Cup already in their pocket and the league title on the way, Lions took a big step towards the treble as they scored eight past United and kept a clean sheet at the other end.

Needing five goals to hit the 1550 landmark in their history, the Lions did that in style as they continue their impressive form so far this season.

United FC  0     MOTM: Luke Pollard
