As we come to the end of the friendly-season, last night saw West Midlands Village’s 100% record come to an end – although they still remain unbeaten. Coming from behind twice, they earned a 2-2 draw in their game with Tipton Family Church FC. With two wins and a draw so far in pre-season friendlies, that’s an impressive start for the new boys.

Tipton Family Church FC  2    Goals: Jez Jeavons, Martyn Shepherd     MOTM: Anthony Smith

West Midlands Village  2     Goals: Kieran Grew (2)     MOTM: Luke Heappey

Talking of new teams, LS Galaxy went down 2-0 to United FC in the other fixture. Although Allstar Lions aren’t continuing as a club this coming season, many of their players are staying involved and following on from Martyn Shepherd’s goal in the previous game, Jason Perry also got his name on the score sheet.

LS Galaxy  0     MOTM: Peter Madge

United FC  2     Connor Potts, Jason Perry     MOTM: Craig Coburn

It’s the final round of friendlies next week and then we kick off with The Summer Cup, which this season is known as The William Watts Summer Cup (see HERE). Details will be published in due course.

If you know anyone that may be interested in entering a team, ask them to get in touch ( For the duration of The Summer Cup there will be opportunities to ‘test the water’ with friendlies prior to the league kicking off in a couple of months.

Also, we are in need of referees, so again, if you know anyone then send them THIS LINK. Thanks.
